Hello all,
I'm doing some XJ shopping when I came across this during my search:
http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...30797586&Log=0
He's asking $13K which seems preposterous to me. Assuming that it drove straight and there weren't any engine/tranny issues, what would you pay for something like this? It's not often that an old XJ like this has such few miles. I want to get a good idea what something like this goes for. There aren't many low mile examples like this so it's hard to compare.

Highest I'd go on that would be 5-6k. That's if there is no rust and the only issue is the headliner. Kept records of all the work done by a shop and the odometer is correct. Looks like a really nice Jeep but in the end the only thing rare about it is the miles and it's still over 20 years old.
As a daily driver id never buy something that age with that low of miles on it.Letting any car sit that long will cause problems like seals drying up and leaking after you daily drive it a while.Things get use to sitting still and will rust in place or not wanna work.I rather buy something with normal mileage thats been taking care of and not driven hard.

Thanks everyone. When I contacted the seller and said depending on how it drove that it would be somewhere around $3-5K range, he told me I was way off. I'm glad that I am not the only one that thinks he is delusional on the asking price.
Also, the point was made that there could be issues from letting something sit for this long. He mentioned in the ad that it sat for 10 years! I would be concerned about anything made of rubber.
Oh well, on to the next one.

Literally half the price, in better shape, and only ~10,000 mile difference.
And they're both too high priced

Wise decision keep searching one will come along, I looked for 6 mo. for mine as I wanted a single year and specs on it.
Andrew's suggestion is right on point mine came from out of state when I bought it, from craigslist.
