After mulling it over, I've decided to swap out most of the parts of my ol' Black 2k XJ into another I picked up that doesn't have nearly as much rust. I need to pull the axles, radiator, SYE and all the armor.

I don't want to even swap out the axles, I just wanna pull the geared ones from my old XJ and store them until I'm ready to install the new lift, I know it's a bit lazy but I'm a bit lazy sometimes. Work's been kicking my butt.

Will a salvage yard take jeep without axles, how would they get it on the truck...drag it? Dolly it?

 

They only one with the actual answer is the scrap yard. Give em a call.

 

Locally, I'm sure it's no different where you are, scrap is bought by the pound.

IOWs, they don't care.

I jacked mine up and backed a trailer under it. They stabbed it with a forklift and I drove away.

 

I believe they should if not any scrap yard buys anything metal.

 

Call around town. Some yards will, some won't. Also, may be a good idea to post it on CL. There are guys that run scrap who will definitely grab it if the yards don't want to. Considering the level you plan to strip it to, I wouldn't expect to get paid for it.
