I'm a cop. If the parking lot is private property you should be ok. The owner of the property would have to tell you to not do it or tell you to leave. But on the other hand if the problem became a big problem then the police could arrest/citation/fine (whatever the law is) you because of trespassing. If this happens the property owner would have to come to court in order for the charge to stick.

Im a Deputy Sheriff here in Indiana. That being said I love to have as much fun as the rest of you. Remember laws vary state to state. Here in Indiana it doesnt matter if its a private lot or not the law is to protect other people and property that also includes the driver of the jeep. I would also say around here they would probably tell you to move on but you can be sited for wreckless driving and if you are out of hand wreckless endangerment. My advise for you is not to listen to all of this "good " advise and research your State laws and local ordinances if you are really worried.

There`s a high school near my work where I go and walk/jog around the track for exercise in the evenings. One time I went and the large double gates they have to take the grounds keeping equipment in were wide open and I had the sudden impulse to drive around the track. I looked around and saw no one nearby so went in and was circling the track and as I got all the way to the back I was thinking, Man if a cop came down the school parking lot right now I've got no where to go. Luckily I made it out. But it was cool. I'm sure most cops would understand as long as you arent endangering anyone.

I've been climbing snow piles for the past 2 weeks and havent had a problem yet. I think its all in how you do it. Cops are people just like everyone else some are jerks, but most of them would just tell you not to do it again if you're not being completely reckless. Some cops would probably give you the thumbs up as they drove by. Do it slow, be careful, don't raise heck and spin your tires like mad, don't do it if there are cars, nuns, orphans, bunnys, kittens, or puppies that you could maim and you'll be fine. There, now all you have to do is DO IT! and take pictures. Before everyone asks no I dont have pictures of me doing it, but in my defence I didn't start a thread about it.

DUI,reckless op, no operators liscense and driving under suspension are the only traffic offenses you can be cited for on private property in ohio. Reckless endangerment, child endangerment (if kids are near by),disorderly conduct and a few others are general misdemenors that you could be cited for just for GP. I got stuck in the middle of a huge snowpile at the mall last year and had to be pulled out by the front end loader that pushes snow for them. A cop showed up-didnt write me a ticket but said he could, just told me not to do it anymore. I told him I was thinking about using one of their light poles to winch myself out before the front end loader got there
