I just got an 04 jeep Wj limited and am going to put a 3 inch lift on it and I am looking for good wheels and tires. I want a tire that I can go off-roading but it is still going to be my daily driver. I do like matte black rims too. I don't want anything too expensive and I dont want to trim down anything

Well you will probably get a ton of opinions and this is mine after running 15 sets or so...
Goodyear Duratracs. Great in snow/ice (best ive ever ran) Great/quiet on the pavement. Good on rocks. Sufficient in mud. And the best part? 70,000 miles+ on a set is common.
I like alloy rims for the weight. My procomps have lasted for years. Just be sure to get a tire wide enough to cover them if you are going to be playing on large rocks.

I have duratracs they're good tires but I was left wishing I had gone with something more aggressive.

Mud is the only area that a more aggressive tire is worth it in in my experience. Getting over twice the millage of most all of the various MT tires I have ran, (TSLs, LTBs, KM2s, Thornbirds, Kumhos, Baja Claws, Procomp, gaurd dogs) and far superior traction in snow/ice make them great in my book. Grip just as good on most rocky areas as well. I think the only thing I might try out is the Fierce MTs or possibly the ATKO2. Other than that, they are easily the best all-around tire in my book. I'm done buying a set of tires a year lol.Originally Posted by PurpleToxin505

I couldn't tell you the last time I played in mud. I'm not saying they're not good tires. For trail riding and light rocks they do great, and I knew that getting them. Though when I got them I also never planned on doing half the stuff I do. Idk what an MT is like on ice and snow but if its worse than the duratracs it must be hell, we got 1 bad storm this yeah and I had no grip anywhere, I had to use curbs to help me stop in traffic. So what I should've said is that I wish I got a tire with a stickier compound as most of my wheeling is rocks.Originally Posted by Ianf406

it depends really on the size you are looking at and if youd like to run a/t or m/t. I have bfg ko at and love them, they ride good on the road, but havent gotten them offroad yet they are new. At work we have run both duratracs and km2s on our f350s. I can say I actually had better luck climbing hills to the site through the snow this winter with the km2s, but both never let me down

I kinda started a fad at work. My boss started asking me about duratracs a week later 4 of our trucks have them. Then he comes to me again. I grab the keys from him and go get some MT/Rs with kevlar. I like then way more. They're just a ***** to keep balancedOriginally Posted by jbdpayne
