You take their insurance info and have everything thoroughly checked out. Then you tell them you'll have a personal mechanic do the work and take a check. Then repair it yourself and use the rest for maintenance or upgrades.

Glad noone was hurt.

^This, don't forget to check for damage further up in the exhaust system, including the manifold. Since it has no flex joints a hit to the exhaust like that can potentially damage the muffler or cat, kink the front pipe or crack the manifold.

If you had a hitch, you might have caused more unhappy damage to your unibody.

My friend up the street got hit from behind by a drunk driver going 120 on a highway while he was going 70. So the collisional force was about 50.

The hitch basically worked as a pry-bar and bent the unibody upwards 60º into the rear seat because the hitch took the shock and transferred it to the thinner unibody metal.

It is good there were no persons injured.
Some say I'm bias, or worse, but my understanding is you require a documented mental deficiency to be allowed to even purchase an import.
Hope you don't find anything more on your XJ than the bruises.

Probably the biggest factor here was the height difference in vehicles, it looks like your bumper pretty much overrode the Camry's impact beam and lower rails focusing all the impact forces on the much weaker rad support and upper rails.

If that Camry isn't totaled it is definitely close to it, obviously the rad support, rad, condenser, fans, bumper, hood, fenders, upper-rails/apron, possibly the strut towers tweaked/pushed-back, the lower rail on the passenger side may be pushed back too. If the air-bags are deployed it is definitely totaled. Not to mention any potential mechanical damage.

The engine doesn't work anymore and the air bags did deploy that Camry is done he also broke his steering linkage we figured this when we tried to move it also he couldn't open the passenger door
