what transmission do i have

Default what transmission do i have

hey guys new guy to the forum sorry if I post this in the wrong section my question is I have a 1994 jeep sport my transmission went out was wanting to get a used one but was told on certain ones will fit im not up to pare on jeeps it is 4 wheel drive and has the 4.0 and is automatic any help on what will work and what I should look for would be greatly helpful again sorry if this is the wrong place to post....

If it's a Cherokee and not a Grand Cherokee, it has the very common AW4 automatic trans.

What's the trans doing or not doing?

If it was me i would have the one you have in it rebuilt.It will be brand new and you know it will fit it came in it.

im thinking it just a Cherokee sport its the square body style I will check tonight to make sure ,my son was driving it when it just stop pulling and he and his friend continue to try to get it home I check the transfluid in it and it is empty and just check it a week before I haven't put fluid in it to just make sure that's all it is I know that's dumb I just figured it slipping to the point of not pulling at all that he burnt what was left up going to put fluid in it this weekend and try it ..also have another dumb question that I believe I already know the answer is a 2 wheel drive transmission the same was just wondering if theres a place to bolt transfer case to my buddy has a complete 93 cherekee sport that runs good and drives good but looks like dam it thanks guys for any help

Fill it with fluid to the proper level and see what happens.

as an added note:
