Just acquired the rear sound bar for my XJ. Looking to replace the 5.25" speakers in it along with the 5.25" in the front doors. So before I go out and waste my hard earned $$$ on junk wanted to see what all everyone is running in there rigs.
Also if any of you stereo know it alls can make a recommendation on what I should get it would help a lot. I would like to run 4 x 5.25" off an amp. No subs, I'm not looking to make myself go deaf, just when a good song comes on I'd like to turn it up and jam. Just not sure what kid of set up I should be looking at. So any help would be appreciated.

Running a stock RBP headunit, Infinty amp, with Pioneer A-Series (6.5" rear speakers, 6x9" front, and 2.5" tweeters in the dash). Hopefully I'll have a stock 10 Disc CD changer, and connecting cable today. One of the reasons I'm staying with the stock unit is that with my job I sometimes have to travel to places that having a nice system will lead to having your window(s) broken, and your stuff jacked with. I also hope to add a small 10" powered Sub just to fill in the lower end. I would advise getting a small Sub+amp with aftermarket speakers just to fill in the low-end.

I agree about adding the small sub for the low end stuff. I still need to do that. I run stock size Blaupunkt (?) speakers in the front and stock size Pioneers in the hatch. Mine is decent sounding, but nothing to brag about. Mine has an alarm due to the comm equipment in it, but I haven't bothered to upgrade the sound system more than that. I run a Pioneer head unit and Sirius radio and it is fine as is.

Just this last weekend I installed 4 jl audio tr525-cxi's and a jvc Kd-x50bt head unit. No amp but I did rewire the doors. The speakers kick hard, and dare I say harder then some of the cheaper subwoofers.
Both products were the top customer rated on crutchfield. Was thinking about throwing subs in there but now I don't think it necessary for my needs.
I also had to drill all new holes for the speaker mounting but that's easy.

I have sony xplod 5.25" in the front and kenwood 6.5" speakers in the hatch and sound bar. Planning on running a 10" 400watt sub with a 2 channel 800 watt amp once the summer comes for me to have time. Even with just the speakers they system kicks just a bit, enough to really feel when stopped but once you start to move it's really just great sound quality. Defiantly want a sub to fill in the loss of bass once I start to move

I put a jvc headunit, 4 boss 5.25 speakers (wouldnt recomend), along with a 13.5 inch jl audio w6 and a jl 500.1 monoblock amp. Hits hard! Better than a couple of my friends that have 2 12's. If your getting subs pay the extra money and get quality over quantity.
