Default What should I get to replace my 95 XJ

In the near future, I want to get another vehicle for commuting and maybe restore my 95 Cherokee. I would like to get a newer Jeep. I have heard that they are terrible for reliabilty. I don't do off road driving so I don't need an off road vehicle. People in this newsgroup pretty much stated thet the Jeep liberty would be a dissapointment. How about the Wrangler, or Commander? I thought that I read from consumers that the 2012 Jeeps were a big improvement.

If you're looking for a commuter then get a gas sipper - something like a Chevy Cruze Eco (over 40mpgs city). It's domestic unlike Toilet, oh, um, Toyota. Keep money in America. We need all the economic help we can get!

Yeah not sure why you're looking at wranglers or commanders if you're not offroading it. Get something with good gas milage, and awd if bad weather is a concern.

I like the JK(U)'s alot and the XK's are cool.. I swear to this day if they went SFA with the Commanders they might still be around.. But I guess the biggest question is do you care about gas millage cause alot like the XJ, all Jeeps with a 2 speed transcase aren't gonna get good gas millage in comparison to your typical vehlicle.. If you don't care about gas millage then the XK is nice.. 3 rows of seating, Smooth quite ride, Can Tow a decent amount of weight. Does have Full Time 4wd - N -4L. The JK(U) you can of course go topless on those nice days, SFA if you ever get into offroading it's nice to have, You will have a grin from ear to ear every day you drive it.. They are the funnest vehlcile still in production to drive right now..

So in the end it really about gas millage wether or not either the JK(U) or XK might be right for you.. Although it's not made anymore I would take the XK over the New GC's any day of the week.. but hey thats just me

2012 JK's come with a new motor. Dramatic increase in power over what was in them before.
