Default What are reasonable prices for a part out?

Like the Title asks? Reason I'm asking is I've got a 96 Cherokee I'm parting out for my brother, I'm just not really sure what reasonable asking prices are for parts, I'm really not trying to rob anyone, just make a little pocket change

Its a 96 4dr
16x,xxx miles
4.0
2wd
Automatic
Chrystler 8.25

Nothing fancy just oem parts, a few of which I've already "salvaged" for my own use, so glad to have a speaker bar again!

Price all depends on condition of parts. At 160k, many parts should be sellable.

What parts specifically are you looking for prices for?

All in good (working) condition, maintained well.
I know an engine will go for a few hundered, transmission? $200?
Axles?
I guess, it's just awkward when someone asks how much I want for this or that, cause I don't really care about the money, like I said it's just extra, I was going to have the JY haul it off, but thought I'd keep it for a minute and take a few things for myself, post it on Craigslist and see what happens.

A good way is to check out some Junkyards or U-pull it yard by you. By me, i can geta whole motor for $200. Trans. for $100-$150. Axles for $100. If you have receipts to show it was taken care of then you could get a couple more bucks for stuff. Also, why are you parting it? whats wrong with it?

$200 is a good starting point for the transmission.

Chrysler 8.25 rear end? I'd start that at $150.

Not much you can do with the front axle for a 2WD.

If you have room to store it/tear it down, I'd say throw it on the Part Outs section of this forum and see what people need. Take it piece by piece. If you don't have space to store the non moving big hunk of metal, take off the valuable pieces, sell em, and send it on its merry way

Some guy T-Boned my brother, luckily on the passenger side, guy was doing like 50 in a 25, ON BASE! He was a low car though so he pretty much went under the stock jeep, theres definitely some damage but it only goes in as far as the frame in one spot.

Not looking to keep it more than a month or 2, JY said they'ed give me $250 as long as it had the engine, so worst case, I rip the rest off and sell them the unibody with an engine haha

I always go by "What would I pay for it.. minus 10%". YOu might be better off just taking off for scrap since it isnt 4wd though.

Thanks, he's fine, I guess he did a "cali stop" at the stop sign...so even though the guy was going close to 50 it was ruled it was my brothers fault. He got my old 93 4 banger, mistake on my part I guess the clutch is almost shot...and hes 5 years older than me

Almost to 25! lol
