From what I understand, the autopal headlights don't need a harness if you run 45/60's in them. Any brighter and you do.
In my state you can get a ticket if they are much brighter than that... So I run VERY bright driving lights relayed to my high beams.... Then I can follow the law and still see deer a long ways ahead.

I did the same upgrade, I'm running Hella 80/100W bulbs that I bought from Amazon. Very bright, I have only been flashed twice in 3 months, and that was before I aimed them at all. Right now I have them pointed lower then I should since I usually drive only in town and they are still very bright. Anything up to 50 feet in front of me is lit up like daylight. I highly recommend them, no problems so far.

Yes, 80W lows 100W highs. The autopals come with their own bulbs that are 55/60 but they are supposedly low quality. I didn't put them in at all, but I keep them on hand in case I get a ticket or one of my Hellas burns out.

I'm running IPF housings, eautoworks harness, and hella 100w bulbs.
Its extremely bright. I need to aim them down a bit, I was behind a car the other day and the guy put his sunglasses on at 10 at night

ipf housings all the way. I run those and they are really nice. as far as quality bulbs, IPF Fatboys are great. and hella's are nice too. I run 55/65w bulbs and that's plenty for me. if you upgrade the harness, it'll get brighter just from that. otherwise, I would just get some h4 HID's if you want more than what a 55/65 offers.
