Default What is a good hook for my tow strap?

I have a 3" 30' tow strap I got for christmas. I am looking to get either a hook for my front/rear receiver, or a receiver with a D ring. I also have 2 recovery points on my front bumper. What is the best bang for my buck?

Also a noob question, am I going to get myself in a bind if I loop the strap through itself around someones axle when pulling? I mean will it pull my loop so tight I'll have to fight it with a screwdriver to get it loose.

I wont attach to my axle, I plan on pulling vehicles out of drifts and ditches. I figure most of those stuck won't have a rear receiver for me to hook on to. When I use it for pulling out of mud, both vehicles will be hooked to the receiver.

I would only pull someone if they had a receiver or some kind of factory recovery option...
Especially the people in Midland, youd be to court in no time.

If your strap has loops, I would just stick one loop in your receiver, then stick the pin through it.

You don't need a receiver adapter thing for your hitch just slide the loop of the strap in and put the pin in through the loop. And what I think is a pretty good buy is this 7 ton hook I got off ebay, its big!
Sorry I can't find the link

ahh okay, very true about Midland people...lol

I was looking at something like this, but if the pin would be plenty strong enough...ill just do that.

I have the d ring shackle receiver on my jeep and it works like a charm. If your planning on pulling someone out i prefer to use my tow hitch reveiver in the rear before i use the front tow hooks. But if you get into a bind the front tow hooks will have to do

Both my bumpers were built expecting the superwinch to be used in the receiver. I like the D ring idea so I dont cut up my strap if im pulling anywhere but strait. Ill get an extra pin for the other vehicle though.

x2 on these, have one for the front a rear of my jeep works great. i also got the pin that you can put a little lock on it so no one will take it off the jeep

this is the scariest thing i've seen as far as recovery goes. please don't use this.

i have one of those d-shackle adapters for my hitch, works great and no worries of the pin bending through the strap end, even tho i've used that method successfully.
