Hey all,

To those of you who OWN/OWNED 97-01 XJ's, what are some things about them that you dont like, that you believe can be improved upon?

 

the front endcaps when lifted.. I used to love them bc of the fog light location but with the 4.5 lift and 265s i rubbed a little at off-camber full turns.. no damage but loud as anything! lol any way I trimmed em up

 

Yeah we have a lot of plastic on our jeeps... Anything else?

 

the rear hatch shocks that hold it up, and they could've thrown some 44's under it, lol. stock leaf springs sag like crazy, but we lift em anyway.

The interior looks like a Dodge Caravan.

 

ya my rear hatch gets on my nerves, i always hit my head on it beacuse it wont stay up.

 

thats not only on those, my 87 does it to

 

the lack of small storage cubbies. My 99 sport has the center console and the glove box. The ashtray works as a great cell phone holder though. But there aren't any door pockets, back-of-the-seat pockets - nothing to put maps in. No rear cup holders either.

 

mine work fine in the spring and summer but dont work in the cold

 

I like this thred....i dont like the A/C system and i kinda wish they would of made its overall size just a tad bigger.

weak axles (8.25" okay but it isn't standard)
no factory LSD
hardly any storage compartments
no rear power outlet (mom's liberty has this... i guess I'm spoiled)

 

Come to the dark side, we've got ride-comfort and dual-climate control over here as well

 

Door wiring. Almost all of them lose door speaker sound and only the driver door window switches will work for moving all the windows. Bigger cup holders, but is an improvement from before. That being said, I love my '99
