Plastic clips on the window regulators... I believe they went to metal clips in 2000.
Hydraulic clutches, would prefer cable.
Having said that, everything works as intended and I am satisfied.
BTW,
8.25 was a standard axle.
LSD was available from the factory.

Wow. You guys sure have a lot of input. I was trying to get a feel for what people think can be improved upon, especially functionality wise, so maybe I can think of a way to improve upon things.. Keep the ideas coming.
I fixed my lack of front door pocket storage by getting the cargo net out of a mid 90's ranger ext. cab. It fit perfectly along the bottom of the door (97+) and now I have a place to put my map other than under the seat.

axles and door wiring. chrysler put a dragon under the hood and used a plastic cage for axles. and don't even get me started on the door wiring. my buddy rode with me a few times, and he got so used to asking me to put his window up and down, that when we got in his car he started checking his own windows just to make sure they were working. lol.

Yeah thats a big problem with these things. Before I got mine, I got irritated at my dad's 97 because my window would never go down with my switch. I didn't ride with him much, but when I'd visit him from out of town, it'd be irritating. Now mine has the same problem. It has a mind of its own. Im working on a quick fix for that too, and will let yall know when I get that done.
I believe some of the limiteds (or possible even the classics) have door pockets in the front on both sides. The picture I saw them in also had the wood grain trim, but I doubt it would be that simple to find and I don't know that I would want the wood grain...

When you turn off the engine then turn off the lights they stay on for like 30 seconds, I always think that i left them on. Other then that i really think the interior is a huge improvement over the 84-96 models.

My headlights do the same thing. It happens if you turn the Jeep off before you turn the headlights off. Once you push the headlight switch in, the lights will stay on for 45 seconds.

Wow. Thats the first I've heard that about an XJ. I live in the mountains, so I used to turn my jeep off, but leave the headlights on until I unlock my front door at night, then go back and turn them off.. no problem turning them off.
Well thats the first i have heard of any one else's doing that. I had electrical problems (i figured bc my fusebox was uncovered and dirt everywhere) when i first got it and i just figured that it was still due to that lol good to know
