I test drove it and it was my first taste of a real rig.
the engine smelled bad and it wont pass smog
the ride is really rough and loud
but for the price and parts, I kinda want it

Pass. Wheels are cheap so buy them new if you want them. Only good thing on it is the SYE.

the things in damn bad shape. said he'd take 15 for it. I'm just having no luck finding a beat up stocker with the specs that I prefer. I'm running out of patience and this is starting to look like a pretty quick and easy toy

 

That is a huge POS, run away from it and don't look back. You should get a tetanus shot after driving that thing. You will spend 2 grand at the minimum to get that thing road worthy. Keep shopping.

4 cylinder??? LOL offer him $500 then buy a nice body and swap all the parts over. PUt the stock ones back on that piece and unload it for $1k.

that was the original plan. lift, axle, gears, tach, sound system, rims, SYE. I wanted it just for the parts. if he wouldve taken my 1200 offer I might be driving that right now..
I know I noticed the 4.0L badge... that thing was a mess.

 

Even $1200 is too much just for the parts. You could probably get all those parts new, minus the wheels/tires for $1200.
