what did you pay for your xj?
traided a well abused 93 dodge intrepid (fully loaded) for my 500$ jeep
unfortunatly i think we should have kept the intrepid(the brakes tierods rotors and bushings were all in good shape.) but atleast the jeep has a rebuilt 4.0L ho engine.

89 Cherokee 2-door, 5-speed, 4x4, 4.0 H.O. lifted on 31" tires BFG, $700.... just needed a new valve cover gasket when the previous owner thought the rear main seal was out causing the leaking

Got it for $200, guy just wanted it gone. only problems ive found so far is a bad starter solenoid (doesnt crank with key when hot), some body damage and the ABS is broken (i dont care about ABS)
everything else works good, may swap axles, i dont know yet. (i hear the D35 is horrid)

Just got an 89 Laredo with 158k for $450. Good interior, straight body but badly peeling clear coat. Needed tires, so I just picked up some brand new '05 YJ wheels that have been in storage since a week after the guy bought it new and lifted it. Got all 5 with not a mark on them and only about 300 miles for $300. Not too bad of a deal... and I'm replacing the cracked exhaust manifold on it right now. Doesn't need much else. Only thing that doesn't work is the front passenger power window (does nothing, I'm sure it'll be an easy fix when I pull the panel) and a couple of power lock actuators are worn.
