I put my 1995 up for sale on FB marketplace.
Short on time, (and funds), and about to move a few states over, so I'm not going to drag this thing with us.
1996 Cherokee XJ Sport, 381,000 miles.
Torque wrench decided to only work in one direction, so replaced it at Harbor Freight. The new 1/2" drive tq wrenches look a lot nicer that the one I turned in.
That's interesting you say that, I bought a HF 1/2" torque wrench years ago and will warranty it out once it starts acting up (usually after about a year) but about 2 or 3 "swap-outs" ago I noticed they changed the design and they were skinnier and the dial was much harder to turn and those last 2-3 have seemed to only last a couple uses before they start acting up, actually I'm due to go swap it out as of last week because it stopped clicking. Maybe I've just been getting duds...

Be sure to calibrate those, they're usually pretty off and calibration is pretty easy
I gave up tracing the wires to a back-up camera the previous owner installed - removing the headliner and interior trim to place a wire or trace one is a pain.I solved the issue with a wireless solar powered camera from Auto-Vox - an easy solution to see small children behind a lifted XJ
I had to flip the camera to work with my set up just Enter the menu, you will see the M/U Control, press M button, press up or bottom to select the Upside image, press M button to confirm it.
SYE installed. I'll fill it tomorrow and install the yokes
this was difficult as this was a long snout veriant, I had to drive the bearings out of the drive gear and cut down the shift fork shaft
I pulled both rear door latches off and have been trying to get years of white lithium grease out of them. They were almost completely froze up, cycling between hot simple green ultrasonic and power washer to blast it out. I tried regular degreaser and it didn't touch it. The enzyme in the simple green seems to be eating whatever grease is holding the lithium together pretty well. once it's clear of all that trash I'll lightly oil the bits with silicon oil and reassemble.
I also pulled the driver side mirror off and apart without breaking the glass, I discovered that the little zinc t-bar cross thing that holds the actuator together was snapped in half. I'll fab up a new one once the 1/8" stainless rod stock I ordered arrives.
Finally got my registration sticker today, for my 1995 XJ. Over 6 months after I bought it since I was taking my time as a hobbyist. The main thing blocking smog test was the check-engine light indicating fuel-injector fault. Replaced the fuel-injectors with a flow-matched set from Trevor trevor.skankfootracing@gmail.com and it runs to much better! Now it runs nice enough to be my daily driver.
Replaced drivers side axle shaft, ball joints, and unit bearings. Will hit the passenger side this weekend. Only thing that really needed it in the end was the unit bearings.
