Installed new front bumper! Much better than the tangled mess that the PO left me.
One more thing off of my XJ to do list.

in the process of ripping off the front bumper the previous owner screwed up, found out my front right (when looking at the front) bumper bracket mounts are destroyed, got a little bit of frame work to do yeah... oh and i figured out my leak, lower raditor house clamp was to tight and cut into the hose...

Washed the 99 and cleaned all the salt off underneath the body. Looks good now that there isnt a layer of road salt and muddy ice.

so it started off with taking off my front bumper which was mangled, then i fixed my coolant leak, chopped half of the fenders off, chopped all those stupid little brackets behind the bumper, relocated my vacuum canister and horn, then sprayed everything black... pix to come soon

lost my daylight early so I called it quits for the day. I also pulled all the fenders off to get ready for some cutting
lost my daylight early so I called it quits for the day. I also pulled all the fenders off to get ready for some cuttingThe Peep took a new universal up the tail of the rear drive shaft, was Precision#369, ran 51000 km, really pooched, probably my pinion to trans angle, going with Delco 45U0107 this time (yes I lube regular), also two new D30 front axle universals, moderately pooched after 165000 km, (the bearing hubs are still going smooth and strong) was Spicer 260's, put in Delco 45U0125, no complaints on the Spicer parts here, just Delco is what my supplier had in stock. With the Delco the front axle universals are made in USA and the rear driveshaft uni is made in china. Had to put it in, I mean really really pooched. I consider the uni's a consumable, will still lube all points regularly. Rolled over 481000km and pullin strong into the new year.

Went to start it this morning and I got a honorable belt screech. I shut it off almost instantly. Popped the hood and took a look. I started it with my auto start and could see the lower idler pulley not turning. Well that sucks I just dropped $160 for a new radiator and don't have any spare cash for the pulley so it looks like it will be sitting until the new year.
Its going to be a cold motorcycle ride to see the family tomorrow.
