So got my oil changed, lube, and checked all my fluids today. Was throwing stuff out when I was done and saw there is a new tenant taking up residence in our dumpster.

Got tired of the loose fitting grille. Half the plastic clips were worn out or missing. Found em on the Cavalier supply truck.

Much better, grille locks in nice n tight now. Lol of course they come in a bag of 50. Needless to say I've got plenty. Anybody needs a set just PM me.

Pulled all the stuff off the front of the engine for a cam chain cover crank seal swap. Found nearly all the cam chain cover bolts loose. The front of the engine from the waterpump down is slathered in oil.

Found some loose bolts on the oil pan and one missing bolt which I gotta replace but cant remember the size or length

pulled the front suspension apart for bushing replacement

replaced the orings on the oil filter adapter along with the distributor seal and resealed the oil pressure sensor adapter.

A large oil leak kicked all this off. Once the front crank seal is replaced the last resort to fix the leak is a rear main replacement po replaced the oil pan and valve cover seal dont know why he didnt replace the RMS while he was in there :/

ready to get it wrapped up and back on the road soon

What did I do to my Cherokee today?

Well, it actually took me 2 days. lol I mounted up a set of new 31x10.50x15's for the ole girl before winter sets in. Hand-mounted them by myself on the garage floor with a couple of tire irons and some rubber lube. Probably not an earth-shattering event for most but at 60 years of age, I thought it was a pretty good feat. My wife thought I was nuts and told me to just take them to the tire shop and have it done, then asked why on earth I would want to do them myself? My answer, "because I still can." Same reason I lifted a perfectly good XJ in my garage, on the floor and built a bastard pack instead of buying springs.

I believe doing all the work myself keeps my mind and body working together. I'm not as fast as I once was but......I WIN! It's done.

Happy Jeepin'

Quote: Surprised it fought you that much. I did both my front doors and it was a breeze. OK I could have used a third hand to hold the door to get the hole on the arm to line up with the bracket to install the pin but even that was not a big deal. Did you find any plastic washers in yours?
My driver's side front door was really bad. Thought the passenger side front was fine. Until I put in the driver's side and realized how smooth they should move. When I did the passenger side I found a washer in there. Then I looked at my back doors and saw them too. Somehow I must have lost a couple. Hardware store solved that. The factory one is the top one in the picture and the bottom was the hardware store replacement.

Never saw those in two kits I got, but that's a great idea!!! That should put a halt to the popping noise too. I do not have that now but that arm being able to move around without your fix has to be hard on the door checks. I'll bet they last a lot longer now. I'm going to do it too. THANKS MAN!!!

Got an email... someone named XLwonders quoted my issue with the door checks. I cannot find it here and I guess it was removed. Modified my quote to something a bit different, but only slightly.

I will not post it here, but you know who you are. And I wish they had left it in. It was VERY funny!!! Glad I got the email, still laughing. CLEVER!

yeah, sometimes we play pranks on newer members as a sort of "initiation". If you can learn to laugh off a few things, you'll have some fun here as we all aren't as serious as we can be.

I think the last one we got to joke on was (oh the irony here...), Satiricalhen.

You're supposed to drain the water first
