Today a new grille arrived and I only put the plastic bumper on yesterday with two bungie cords so I thought it would be easy. But it's was all that easy because the grille was to some kind of Dodge car and there was only one front sway bar link. I ordered two - they sent one. Brilliant!
So I Did install the new polyurethane sway bar bushings and one sway bar link in the front. I was also positive that I had ordered the links with grease fittings but the new one came without a fitting. Just about then my very attractive neighbor came home from work, she had brought beer, and so I never got to the rear sway bar bushings and links. While we were drinking the first beer the UPS girl came back with . . . . the missing link And the steering damper I had forgotten I had ordered. "Sorry; I forgot to leave these earlier!"
Sometimes it is just not easy being me. <g>

Stared longingly at it as I left work in the Ranger...
Lol, tags are out on it, and I've got to swap the windshield and fix the horn for it to pass inspection. Had no idea the horn was dead, never use it...

Today was my first day of PT and I felt great.
How is this Jeep related? Well it kept me from mounting my transfer case back up.
If you want to make it a career, good for you. But if you're just doing one enlistment, get everything you can out of the service. I'm mainly talking about free college. Should be about $2,000 a year, all you have to do is pass. I just finished my 6 years with the army, and the one thing I regret, is not taking twelve thousand dollars worth of free college classes in my spare time. And that won't take away from your post 9/11 Bill.Originally Posted by shooptube

It may not be easy, but you bear it nobly, sir. Thanks for enduring it, and sharing it so selflessly. Good for morale.Originally Posted by Poodle Head Mikey

Hello Jake here, I've been searching for a 1997 jeep grand Cherokee limited, 5.2 v8 4x4 and also 4 wheel all time 4in. rough country kit. Every time I think I find a kit it ends up being one that won't fit for either 8 cylinder or AWD, but either way I can't find one that'll fit for mine. Please help, and try to keep it on the less expensive side if possible, thanks.

Oh trust me, I am getting schooling while I'm in. I may stay in longer than one enlistment though. It really depends on the job I get, promotions, etcOriginally Posted by rklettke

Yes!
Took the day off yesterday to work on the Jeep. I've been having a horrible squealing u-joint sound, sticky idle, and no high beams for a while now, so my plan was to replace said u-joint, the IAC (previously cleaned it and progressively went back to being bad), and my broken putco headlight harness.
I had both driveshafts out to isolate the noise, so the truck was immobile while I replaced the IAC with a damn expensive Mopar part. First start, 2500 rpms. Second start, 3k, third, 2200. Eventually, it went down to about 1500 but any touch of the throttle would spike the engine. Replaced the throttle body gasket, fixed the broken throttle body bolt I snapped off by over torquing, and BAM - smooth throttle again.
Headlight harness went well. Got one from a member here. I like the looms better, connectors and relays better. Replaced my battery terminal connectors while I was at it. Found mud from every part of the east coast too.
The Spicer u-joing I Amazoned didn't arrived until nearly 5 p.m. The bad joint was the rear most at the differential. It seems like it got a lot of overspray on it when I had the Jeep undercoated, but it was toast and only 7 months old.
It was a productive day but there's a kicker. I completely lost the four bolts for the front driveshaft at the transfer case. They're no where to be found so I'm 2wd for a bit, but oh well.

I started noticing that my rear hatch was getting a little hard to open.
So I adjusted the linkage. Problem solved.
Also the high pressure hose from the power steering pump to the steering box started spraying fluid all over my exhaust header when I'm at full lock. I had plans for this weekend.
