napier hood vents came in today, these things are huge! (in a good way) should help keep rain out of the engine bay better. also the have a slight concave curve in them so the middle stays pressed against the hood when screwed in. pretty nifty if you ask me.

Discovered a very large puddle of ATF under the 42re transmission.
So I removed transfer case and replaced seal at rear of transmission extension housing. The original seal was hard and brittle.
Unlike the AW4 transmission, the 42re seal uses the input shaft of transfer case to seal against.

Drove it to work just as the snowpacolypse started. Like, firetrucks in the ditches and everything.

NP242 works like a champ

Love mine. As much as it rains down here in FL, the engine compartment doesn't get wet like people think.

Part # 19211 SKF brand from NAPA.
I mistakenly bought a rear output seal for the 42re. But attached to rear is the overdrive unit, that is what mates to transfer case and had faulty seal.

Sweet! That means I might have mine waiting at home for me. Might need to wait another day since I am on the opposite side of the world compared to Lowrange though.

Awesome job Lowrange! We really appreciate that last minute change. If there's anything you need from us, just ask.

On another note, I got my 20mpg back after the sensor changes from my last post. 24 miles on 1.2 gal of 93 octane at 70mph.

re routed some wires, started building the exhaust, found the t-sase seal i never installed today amongst my stock pile of exhaust tubing.

even with the 3link and clocked up drive shaft i have enough room for the 2.5" toob at full stuff

at least i have a spare now:?
(but it'll be lost again when/if i need it, just like any one of my files)

It's a 4 cyl for starters, not a 4.0L. Lol.
