Today I 1) verified that the front diff is no longer leaking by checking the level and then 2) put the car seats in it to return it to its proper place as daily driver.
Also added some refrigerant because the ac vent temperature was a balmy 68 instead of the 40 or so it should have been given the temperature and humidity.

Question for you guys. Checked out my exhaust manifold that had a "small hole" in it. Actually 2 of the header tubes are completely detached from the collector.
Would that cause my sluggish engine, miss fire at WOT, and god awful MPGs that I never used to get? I'm thinking the holes are introducing extra air to the oxygen sensors and making fuel dump in the engine

Go to cruiser54's website. He has them for free. And they're more complete. I have a pacific coast manual for my 01 and it has several pieces of wrong info.Originally Posted by Valeir

I would think the hole would let exhaust gas out that the o2 should be reading. But yeah exhaust leaks can definitely cause your jeep to run rough. May not be the only reason but it's contributing.Originally Posted by shooptube

We share the same opinions on that. It's not bad. I think they're heading in the right direction. But they need to K.I.S.S. that roof goodbye.Originally Posted by NewKindOfClown
I agree, except for the fake-canvas roof. That's just dumb. They tried to make it look like an M715, which is based on the Gladiator, instead of a Comanche. But it looked alright

Yes, back on topic.
Loaded it up with tools before heading to work so a co-worker could attempt to repair his Jeep that wouldn't start. Poor guy, first his wife left after he found out she was sleepin' around on him, then his only source of transportation to work gives up on him.
Seems like he got it rigged to work for now though. Something amiss between the clutch safety switch and the starter relay. He hotwired the relay and it started up just fine.

it might be causing a little heat soak on some of the injectors causing the misfire. Possible loss of proper back pressure can make it run wonky as well... I think... The loss of exhaust ppm on the o2, coupled with misfire has the potential to lessen mpgs as well. In really to tired to think it over right now so an edit might come tomorrow!Originally Posted by shooptube

From personal experience with exhaust leaks before the O2 sensor, yes it does cause reduced fuel economy. The manifold on my XJ was cracked right at the collector as well. I welded it up and gained 2-3 mpg right away. I could easily see it contributing to the other problems too.Originally Posted by shooptube
