After fixing a fuel leak, and replacing my water pump, I felt like I was on a roll so for pure cosmetics, I took off the front air dam under the bumper. I think it looks much better!
You need an impact. Its on there to a MINIMUM of 210 ft-lbs so a normal breaker bar ain't taking it off easily.
After it's off it's very straightforward. Probably about 1/2 hour start to finish
Yea living at an apartment at school leaves me with limited tools, I tried using my 18" breaker bar with my bottle jack with no relieve. It'll be worth the hour, i'll go with my front driveshaft already off so they can get right into it.

Good call. I always remove the air dam

Your mallcrawling skills are weak! Mine was ripped off by a snowbank.

12" isn't exactly a breaker bar lol, that's like a long ratchet

I had to use a impact. Made quick work of it. I have an electric one so i could run an extension cord out my condo to work on the vehicle. I would just make friends at the local community college and see if you can use there tools or make some friends who have the tools and room you need to do work on the jeep. That's the route I'm taking now.

I'm not going and there is no local community college around lol. I have a buddy but he lives an hour out and would be more expensive in gas and my time to drive out there than a quick hour at the shop. I don' think an electric impact will budge the 27 year old nut. My 18" breaker and jack didn't, needs a strong air impact with the instant force.

I soaked my nut with PB blaster for several days. Grabbed the electric impact and a pipe wrench to hold the yoke. Took a good 30 secs of constant impacting on it. It came loose and I was able to do what needed. It's the Chicago electric impact. It's bulky but it works so well. They sell them at harbor freight
