Picked up the rest of the parts I ordered yesterday and my two oxygen sensors. I now have almost everything I need to finish the work on the Jeep other than a 95 YJ brake hose and some hard line to run to the back. Oh I could use some nice rain free warmer weather too, but that is coming in a few days.
I also finished putting the interior back together aside from the front door panels. I haven't put them back on yet because I need to replace the front speakers. I am just going with a pair of cheap Scosche 5.25" because for the music I listen too high end speakers wouldn't make a difference other than the hole in my bank account.

Ripped out the seized ac compressor cause the jeeps not moving till I buy the new belt and bypass pulley Friday.. mines a 99 anyone ever take the entire ac system out. Ive never used it in any thing I've owned just the heat and I'd like to take out everything from the ac system I can to free up room under the hood and still be able to have heat and defrosters

I just took advantage of the "Shocktober" deal monroe has at RockAuto and ordered sensetracs for the front and load assist coil overs for the rear. When I got home from work I noticed a puddle under the filler cap, my wife filled the tank, so it must have the infamous pump seal leak... sigh Ive already replaced more than I bargained for on this little jeep but hey, I get to brag that im in the 200k mile club

Removed the AC from my '95, and it freed up some space under the hood. Removed everything except the evaporator and AC styled heater control. Heater works great, and it didn't cost that much to have the system evacuated and refrigerant recovered. Worst part of that was having to tow the thing to the shop and back. The extra space would be more noticeable on a '99 since it has an accumulator mounted up by the firewall, where the '95 had the receiver/dryer mounted low between the motor mount and alternator.

A slow, laborious process for a ham-handed just barely a mechanic like myself, but replaced the alternator in my 97 Sport (282,000 miles). This is the third replacement over the last 8 years or so. Perhaps I should conclude that investing in a new, higher quality alternator (I have been using the 90-amp rebuilts from NAPA) may be a good idea next time.
This failed one never quit charging, but the check engine light would come on occasionally, and then very significant radio noise developed. All is good now.

today i installed some fog lights and a muffler, those $55 Walker mufflers from canadian tire are decent, sounds good and is direct fit/replacement. Needs some welding tho, leaking at cat
