Is the pan leaking? The filter is actually a screen and does not require changing 99% of the time. Drain and fill works good, needs to be done twice with some driving in between.
The pans can be a pain to remove. The exhaust often prevents it from coming off, same with the dipstick tube.
I am going to be dropping the transmission to replace the flexplate, so the exhaust has to come off any how.
I got the Jeep for $400 because it sounded like it had spun a bearing. I was sure that it might be the flexplate, but didn't want to pay more than salvage value for it just in case. I got it home and pulled the inspection plate and was greeted by a bolt that was only in by a few threads. When I tightened it a crack reveled itself and while checking the other bolts I found that the holes were ovals. The fluid is a little dirty too so I figured since I was changing the flexplate why not do the filter too. It is not like the gasket and filter were expensive, only $34 and it gives me some peace of mind.

I don't know why they look like 3500k in the pic, but the TruckLite led just blow
the H4 away.
In this pic the headlights are on low. I hope the truck lites will be
able to handle Alaskan snow fall. I guess I'll find out.
I was looking at those headlights today and giving them some serious thought. Maybe not this year, but I think I will own a set next year.
Helped a friend move. Folded the seats down and used my xj and my other friend's wj for boxes and delicate stuff, while big stuff went in a borrowed gmc 3500 with a 9x9 stakebed/stakebed
So went to check my coolant level out of curiosity and saw my headlight feed burnt up some and held on by 4 strands of copper. Did a quick fix with some spare wire i had and di electric, should be great now
Ps. Ignore the pic of the moldy sheetrock. It was a picture from a jobsite and phone uploaded it for some reason

Did another auto drain & fill, and it finally came out red and clean! Time to put in some Maxlife for the next fill up and call it good for a while. Phew! Thought it'd never clean out.
Got one WJ LCA put in. Passenger side. Got lucky and the bolt broke free on the body side. The WJ arm didn't want to fit the top of the arm was hitting the frame rail inside the body mount. I had to ground the top of the arm off a little bit to get clearance.

On to the driver side.
Driver side done.
The body side bolt wanted to stick. I heated or for like 10-12 mins with a propane torch and it came out with the impact. I think that WD-40 rust penetrate might've actually made a difference.
