What did you do to your Cherokee today?

My '94 gets a new rear bumper for its 20th Birthday!
This is what happens when a lil Japanese car gets tangled up with the rear end of a Jeep Cherokee in the snow.

I wish I would of takin pictures of the Acura that rear ended me. It looks pretty darn close to that. And I just had a little dent in my stock bumper

When that thing hit us, my daughter who was a passenger, said "What was that?".............
...And I was going to take the bumper off and give it a little flat black paint job last summer.............

Tips on taking surface rust off steel? The front recovery I bought from Boost_Happy have rusted over in the winter salt. I had spray painted them with clear coat but It still rusted. I was thinking I'd just take a hard wire bristle attachment on my dremel and take it off then paint over again
Like I said, its pretty new rust. The other side isnt as bad as this side. I plan on taking the bumper off and sanding/wire brushing to see how much I can take off then repainting it. Dont want to take them all the way off because its bolted down to the steering box and I don't want to mess with that

Started Timing Chain Replacement
Well, the timing chain cover was the source of my oil leak. Why was it leaking you may ask, this bolt had backed out causing a leak. The seal may have been contributing as well, but who knows. You can see by all of the old oil and grime, it had been leaking a while.
By the time I removed everything and found the bolt for this hole sitting on the lip, I had already removed everything else and decided to go ahead and change the front crank shaft seal, timing chain, and sprockets since I was that far along.
FYI you do not have to remove the water pump, thermostat housing, or radiator to do this job.
Notice the chain stretch after 165,000 miles. They are even on the other end.

Haven't laid a hand on the jeep within the last 4 days. I'm sure it misses me. However my buddy who rolled his xj back in September just got himself a 90xj 4.0 AW4 242 same color but with the tan interior. Let the build begin again!

Went mudding will my friend. cowl intake worked great, just I small amount of water in the bottom of air box. Went down into one mud hole and bumper got stuck on a wall of mud, so had to get pulled out.
