What did you do to your Cherokee today?
Replaced my 2nd "Failsafe" thermostat in 3 weeks!
They keep locking open on me.
XJ did not even overheat? Just driving home from work, normal temperature, then temp suddenly drops and goes down to about 100 degrees. Stays there for the rest of my drive home.
At least this time I wasn't driving to work while it was -2 degrees outside like last time.........
Anybody else have this issue with "Failsafe" thermostats?

Well i was trying to get my head back on the block, but the old gasket decided it didnt want to come off all real nice. So I spent a long *** time taking that off using razor blades and brushes on a drill and stuff like that. Finally got it all nice and smooth. But football game....
I also installed my Rampage H4 conversions, and Putco headlight harness.
So hopefully tomorrow night I can finish my Jeeo and get it running again. Would be real special to me if I can get it back for Christmas.

finally got my front outer axle seal in last Monday and today put everything back together. I had 2 washers holding the seal tight on the rod and the outside one got stuck in the seal, it was a pita to get out, and then it was stuck in the shaft, that was a pita to get out too.
Those relays suck!

If you pack the connectors with di-electric grease and make sure they are pointed down (not sideways like in kuzican's pic) they actually seem to hold up pretty well. I did that with mine (pack the connectors with di-electric grease and mount the relays with the connector pointed down) and I've gone about two years with the original relays (I threw a couple spares in the glove box just in case but haven't needed them yet).

A good early morning its been so far. Removed 1 1/2 pucks from my bumpstop to be back at a better height. Also drilled the hole for my soon to be backup light switch. Greased and checked front end and driveshaft. Also found my splash guard is actually still holding on good. Guess that why my altwrnator hasn't *****ed during these last storms
