Today on my "new to me" 98....
Installed some new Sylvania Silverstar headlights... drove home tonight and couldn't have been happier. For around $40 it was a great investment...
Took apart the dash/gauge cluster and cleaned the prongs and connectors to hopefully fix my intermitten tach/speedo.... so far so good.... fingers crossed.
Changed the oil, checked balljoints and greased most everything in the front end...
Nuthin too exciting... gotta stick to regualr DD maintenance for now before the yota axles, 38s and an Atlas tcase

Yes.... stock wiring... I'm quite happy. Not saying it's amazing, but I'm happy.
I'm trying to stick with the KISS formula for now.. I read several threads on upgrading but for now I needed to replace the water logged junk that was in there before I got real personal with a deer. I'm sure I'll get a lil more crazy once I retire it for snow....

What's the wattage on the Silverstars you installed? Does KISS include your headlight switch melting and being stranded without any illumination at all? Not joking here. Aside from getting way more light output with a replacement harness that uses relays, running lights that draw more power than stock on stock wiring is a serious safety issue on XJs.
