seriously, what the hell is that vacuum ball for? when i got my jeep years back, that thing was just dangling off the front end, so i ripped it off and threw it out. it hasn't affected anything since being removed.

It has something to do with the Climate Control system, but I;m to lazy to look it up in my FSM right now...

Nevermind, it took me 5 seconds to find. From the FSM:

VACUUM RESERVOIR

DESCRIPTION
The vacuum reservoir is mounted to the front
bumper bar behind the passenger side bumper end
cap. The bumper end cap must be removed from the
vehicle to access the vacuum reservoir for service.

OPERATION
Engine vacuum is stored in the vacuum reservoir.
The stored vacuum is used to operate the vacuum-controlled
vehicle accessories during periods of low
engine vacuum such as when the vehicle is climbing
a steep grade, or under other high engine load operating
conditions.
The vacuum reservoir cannot be repaired and, if

faulty or damaged, it must be replaced.

When they talk about the "Vacuum-controlled vehicle accessories", I think they mean stuff like the Damper for the AC/Heat....

Just buy the gallon one, haha.

Took mine out a bit last night, it's been raining cats and dogs here, found me a little mud, had a little fun, haha. No pics though, it was night, and most of the mud got washed off over the night cause it was raining the whole time...
