Yes the 242 looks girly and no I'm not putting it on my jeep. What do y'all think about the country decal.

I changed the oil in my buddies 5.2L Grand. Its weird working on a stock Jeep with no lift on it.
Today we used it to pull the bushes out of his front yard. 5.2L in 4Lo didn't even have to work to pull them out. It was pretty impressive.

Tried to replace the "temp switch" (Autozone's name) that's next to the firewall and firewall ground, but I just can't seem to get in there and it looks like the valve cover covers part of the switch. The easiest thing to do would be to take the cover off or at least loosen it. Ain't nobody got time for dat today.
My tranny has been shifting really sloppy lately. I figured it's the solenoids going bad. So I'm fixing to order a kit online (going through local retail is ridiculous!). Online, I can buy the 2 solenoid/1 locking kit for $109. ONE solenoid is about $150 at Autozone! But I went and threw some Lucas No Slip in there just to see what would happen. As advertised, it was solid shifting again! And I only put in half the bottle! So I'm thinking, maybe I'll just drain the pain, replace the filter, and then maybe some Lucas stuff if fresh ATF (Dex/Merc) doesn't feel solid. If it's still squirrely, maybe new solenoids are what I need anyway.

The switch is at a little bit of an angle. a deep socket takes it out with no trouble. Not necessary to remove anything else.

I've adjusted my tv cable several times. I'll do it again after I switch the switch.

I used deep socket, but if it's at an angle, that might be why I just couldn't get it to grab on. Thanks! I'll try it again when I get back from L.A. This might be why I'm getting such crappy mileage. I thought I had a bum gauge; it reads WAY low all the time. But if it's this temp switch and it's reading low to the computer, it thinks my engine is cold all the time and I'm probably running rich.

This could be a s simple as a faulty thermostat causing the engine to run too cold, thus causing poor fuel mileage.

I *THOUGHT* that was the case, that the rear sender was gauge only. But then someone convinced me otherwise. No matter. It should really be fixed. It may be running normal; it might be the sender giving bogus data when everything is fine.
