Yep, smells much better since the spray on liner has dried...amazingly it didn't really smell that bad before I ripped the carpet out

Believe it or not.....this motor still ran
It's an 89 2-door limited and the body is in really great shape(totally rust free) very rare in PA
Yesterday I took out the blowed the hell up Renix today I began rebuilding a replacment
I will be installing a 95 Block and head in it after I get the crank back and reassemble the dang thing already got the head back from it's machine shop luvin session. Next week....new mains, rod bearings, timing set,and the rest. Also I'm going to try a Melling high volume oil pump in it since it will be strictly a trail unit and therefore suffer a dreadfully brutal existance to the bitter end

Just change the short block and do a valve job on the Renix head. Too expensive to mix Renix and H.O. electronics and FI. The head is that much different so that the Renix electronics won't work on the H.O. head intake/exhaust.

I don't have a renix block and I do have a H.O. thus the swap even though I would rather keep it original. I'm going to use the H.O. exhaust manifold and weld the little pipe into it that comes off the reinix intake and I'll use the renix intake and TB after a little die grinder work to match the head a bit better
due to the rust problems here with road salt the renix junkyard parts are harder to come by

As long as the electronics are all Renix including the TPS and IAC you will be just fine. Make sure you have good port matching or you will lose some significant power from the mix.

A friend of mine had the same thing happen on a ZJ with the 4.0l... We drove her up on the trailer and into the shop later.... Other than the anti-freeze and oil dumping out the hole it actually didnt run bad.........

today im installing intermittent wipers and cruise control on to my 90(mine "was" a base model, you wouldnt know it anymore). ive already put a rear wiper on(intermittent), added power leather seats, upgraded the guage cluster, dash and put in a center console.
i was toying with the idea of adding a/c. i know i could manage it, but i think its just too much work for what its worth.....esp since i live in bc, canada(a/c is rarely needed here).
ive definately got the jeep bug though, seems every weekend i want to do something new to it. and since i have a local j/y thats jeep only i can get any part i need for cheap(my salvaged cruise kit was only $20).
edit: im also helping a friend install mustang injectors and replace the alternator on his 88 today.
