I picked up another cherokee today. Its a 95 with 6" lift, 33" pro comps, trimed fenders (front and back), 456 gears with a locker in back and ARB air locker in front, on board air (using the A/C compresor with a tank) plumed to run air tools or air up a tire or what ever, rock sliders and a front bumper kinda like my 98 green one has but stronger. The guy updated the steering with heavy duty tie rods and 3/4 ton tie rod ends. It has a 9000 LB mile marker winch that looks old as hell. It looks like it runs off hydraulic fluid. It runs fine it just drives like crap. all over the road. Has about 6-8"s of play in the steering.
The tie rod that goes from wheel to wheel rotates when you turn the wheel and thats why it has play. Why does it do that??

Here are a couple other pics

The rotation in that tierod is typical of that design. Easy way to fix it is to loosen the jambnuts and clock the tierod end at each knuckle to the opposite direction. This will not allow the draglink to rotate the tierod.
By clocking i mean to push the end to it's furthest travel poinbt... not allowing it to move more.
