Weld spatter will often melt the glass causing tiny dimples, I've removed a bit using a small screwdriver as a chisel being very careful. Because of the fact that it likely melted into the glass you will not get it looking perfect.

If it's got metal spatter all over it and cracks from wheeling replace it. Take a few seconds to cover the windshield next time.

If your windshield, that big piece of glass that keep your vision clear and keeps you from wrecking your **** is covered in weld splatter (how the hell does that even happen?) and cracks it's probably time to replace it. It's not even that expensive, insurance will usually cover it for pretty cheap.

Check your insurance policy if the windshield is beat up anyhow. Comprehensive is cheap and usually covers glass breakage at 100% and it doesn't usually effect your premium.

Not going to happen it is the same as welding splatter its is molten/semi molten metal hitting the glass and it actually melts the glass where it lands and melts into the glass so even if you remove the metal the glass is still deformed in that place.
