I am getting a tank for my MIG welder for the argon gas. I will be using this to do the whole floor in my Cherokee. After that, I'll probably use this sporadically for small patches here and there (maybe two or three times a year). What size tank do I need? One company says I should consider a 60 or 80 cub ft tank, other places say that I wouldn't need anything bigger then a 40 cub ft tank, and yet others say I probably could use smaller. I don't want to get something that's over kill that will sit around and probably not ever get used, but I don't want to get something too small that I run out mid project. What's the appropriate size? Thanks
Firstly, you'll be using C25 (argon & CO2 mix). My advise is to get the biggest tank you can afford and store/tote around. I outgrew my first small tank and went with a 60 or 80 (I forget). You'll be surprised when you really get into it how much you'll be using your welder and there's nothing worse than running out of gas in the middle of a project....

Ok, makes sense.
What does oemtech / x2 mean?
Can I buy any used tank and put argon in it or does it need to be a specific labeled argon tank? (lots of used tanks on Craig's List)
I'm guessing it needs to be specifically labeled so not used for the wrong thing.

Buy an argon tank.
OEM means you put this in the wrong section.
I don't know where u are, but in this area, 80 cf tank is the biggest u can own outright. Any bigger, u ll have to rent out the tank.
My recommendation is the 80 cf tank. It saves money in the long run when refilling it. It cost 28 bucks to fill up the 20 cf tank, which is the smallest. It cost 48 bucks to fill up the 80 cf tank. Do the math and imagine how much it ll cost you when u keep refilling the small bottle.
And I believe u can just get used tanks off Craigslist and switch them with appropriate tank of your choice. At least that's what I did here.
