Default How tough is your XJ

Some people talk about how tough their vehicles are but my XJ has survived 2 years of my teenage daughter driving it every day. That's the true test of how tough it is.

Mine is tough enough. It has done everything I have asked of it and gone everywhere that I have pointed it. So far, I haven't had to use the winch yet. But then, I'm not a hardcore off-roader.

That's not far into my future. I'm pretty sure I'll just buy her a Honda civic or something. lol

I thought running it on trails was rough treatment but a teen girl is the ultimate test.

is your daughter anything like the teenage girls around here? They like to take their jacked up chevy trucks that their parents bought them and go mudding... They will bounce them off the rev limiter until the floorboard is touching the ground because they simply don't care, or know any better.

Not like that. She has done some light offloading but she has hit a concrete pillar while parking and rear ended a 2006 infinity just this week.

My oldest daughter totaled my last XJ about a year and a half ago. Some lady in a Mustang pulled out in front of her and they locked front drivers wheels. I told her that if she had had my cirrent XJ, that she would have parked on that mustang's hood. My last XJ was still stock. If she hadn't broken the tie-rod, I'd have been able to drive it home. The real lousey thing... I had just paid it off less than two weeks earlier.

The XJ my daughter is driving has a 2 inch lift and 31 inch tires. When she hit the concrete pillar it destroyed the brush guard and front bumper and bent the frame. I had the frame straightened at a body shop and put on a new bumper from Nates 4x4. When she hit the infinity it poked 2 holes in the infinities bumper from the D rings. A new bumper for the Infinity cost me more than having her frame straightened and the Nates bumper combined. I paid the cost of the first wreck. This time she is paying me back for this last wreck.

One time way to fast and I saw the video and tje body shook so violently it looked as if it was going to pop off. Theres some other **** too I can't think of know but damn there tanks

My Xj has been across the country twice. Hit a tree. Sat in a river for 13 hours running. Is offroad daily. And I commute over a steep mountain pass 30 miles a day. One tough S.O.B.

It had enough gas to run for 13 hours!?! Impressive.

haha yeah. And surprisingly it only burned around 1/4 tank idling. I can use more than that in an hour on inclines.
