I've always thought the same, but it seems after the CJ they don't mean anything. MJ-Michael Jackson? ZJ???? TJ? JK-Just Kidding?

The best thing I can come up with since the cherokee has the most cargo capacity of most of it's predecessors, is 'X'pedition 'J'eep.

One of the newer ones that does make sense though is LJ, its a long wheelbase TJ, so Long Jeep.
