Default want opinions/advice on ECU chips

I have been looking at ecu chips lately, and found some options for under 200 bucks that seem like they're not scams or crap, but I just don't know. Any opinions or knowledge on any of these websites/products are welcomed. I like these types of ECU modifiers because they just modify the signals from different things to trick your ECU, they don't actually re-write anything.

-This one is cheaper, but it doesnt show a picture or tell me actually how it works?

-This one seems more legit, and tells me how it works, but do these actually work?

- This one doesn't seem legit at all, just shows a picture of a computer chip and a dial and promises more horsepower?

I really want to buy something like this, but I am really unsure as to which one to buy? OR if I should even buy one of these things, are they a scam? Has anyone found success with any particular brand or website? Please help Thanks

I believe all the do is TRY to raise ignition timing and fuel injectors. Its basically a resistor in that **** or chip and you clamp it on the computers wires.

Which is gonna be bad eventually.

a real chip replaces or takes control of the eprom and remaps the whole system.

Look at the difference in this.

However with a chip the whole point is to take advantage of other mods, So if you dont have bigger injectors, bigger TB, headers free flow exhaust and intake you are going to get nothing.

If you did all that you might gain 20-30 actual hp.

I have read several reviews of these "Ecu chips" and most of the time they sent you a little plastic box with 2 wires sticking out of it, no lie.

Put the company name in google and type scam after it and see how many hits you get.

The first company has great use of photoshop on their website, haha.

A "chip" will not increase compression, make the engine breath better, make the exhaust less restrictive, or increase the displacement. It will only fool the OEM computer's fuel mapping and give no noticeable gains for the tune of about 300 bucks.

Spend that $$ elsewhere!!!

I've always wondered why people try to get more power.
Most of my wheelin' is done at part throtle less than 2000 rpm.

My only performance mod is a Flowmaster. And that's because it can take lots of rock hits!!
