Does anyone else notice ALL the upside down 10 slot grills(84 thru 87)? Here in Wenatchee, WA there seem to be more grills upside down on the 84 thru 87 Cherokees than right side up. I dont notice the 8 slot grills(88 thru 96) upside down much, and havent ever seen a 7 Slot(97 thru 01) upside down. Its easy to tell, with the angle of the grill not matching the angle of the headlight bezel. Are people that sloppy with their wrenching craftsmanship? I have noticed this in pictures of other 84 thru 87 Cherokees from all over the place, so I dont think its the people around here, though there are Alot of XJs here in Washington.

Dunno, but when I bought my '89 here in B.C. (straight north of WA) my grill was upside down...I righted it lol.

 

Pretty sure 88-96 have a 7 slot. My 96 does, everyone I know with early 90s XJs are 7 slot.

 

My buddy bought my old 88 and turned the slots upside down because he liked the way it looked, maybe people just like the way it looks on early models?

 

I dont have that problem. Still hella confused as to what yall are talking about. Pics would be nice.

He's saying that the contour of the grille doesn't line up with the headlight bezels divider.

 

Factory 88 thru 96 Jeep Cherokee grills are 8 Slot. Factory 97 thru 01 Jeep Cherokee Grills are 7 Slot. Should I repeat this? The 84 thru 87 10 slot grills and the 88 thru 96 grills can be installed upside down. What is confusing about this?
