Kenwood deck with aux and ipod hookup http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entert...eiver/KDC-X693 and replaced the door speakers with 5-1/4'' Alpine type S speakers, and then since my jeep used to be a police car i have that cage in the rear so i got 2 6x9 boxes and put 6x9 Alpine type S speakers in them and hanged them off the rack

sounds pretty good. cant go wrong with alpine! i've got the Alpine CDA-9886 Head unit in my truck and i love it. my speakers are two diff brands but i got my 2 6.5" pioneers for free that are in the front doors, and the 2 Sony Xplod 6X9's that i have boxed in the back were free too :P
but your set up sounds sick. Alpine is great stuff. Kenwood is good too. I've got a 12" kenwood sub and 1000W Kenwood amp and both are amazing.

All in all you made good brand choices and i'm sure they sound awesome together. pics would be great !

I have Alpine 6.5 Type-R components all around and an Eclipse CD3100 can't go wrong with either brand IMO.

From experience, and specs of head units. The newer Alpine units just are not the same. At least when it comes to the internal amplifier. Their speakers are good stuff tho.

Kenwood is now part of jvc. In my opion that's not good
Alpine deff makes some nice units, but deff play second fiddle to pioneer, or their premier line.

As to amps in headunits almost all can't put out more then 16 watts. So it's pretty pointless to upgrade speaker that can't handle much more then that, without an amp.
