Has anyone ever raptor lined (or used another undercoating product) the underside AND underneath the carpet? I was wondering how it was for sound deadening as well as protection.
I used Raptor liner for the front wheel wells and undercarriage from the rear wheels forward. It seems like an excellent product, highly recommend it. Still have to do my rear undercarriage but wanted to ask if anyone has done both underneath and inside before.
I don't want to remove the carpet in my XJ but I'm just curious how sound proof and protected it would be if I did the undercoating on the inside then reinstalled the carpet over it.

It won't do anything for sound what so ever.. Raptor lining under the carpet is pointless unless you put alot of wet stuff on top of the carpet. You'd be better off putting your jeep on a lift and taking everything off the bottom and doing that undercarriage only. What's the reason for doing the lining under the carpet? It's not going to hurt, but take it from someone that's done it; it's alot of work for little reward if you're putting the carpet back in. Check out some of the stuff I did, if you have questions just ask.

so you're saying as long as the bottom is rapor lined, it will never rust from the inside out?
yea ok...
bed lining the inside is a great idea and you should definitely do it if your up for the job. It doesn't need to be raptor liner though.
heres my thread on herculining the inside.

The floor of my pickup and the floor of my old XJ are/were both lined and there was a noticeable difference in road noise. Not a ton, but definitely noticeable.
It's worth doing for the rust protection alone, but not worth it solely as a sound deadener.
