Default Undercoating

Went and bought Herculiner under coating today, read the instructions and prepped the area (lower door part under trim) by scuffing the surface and cleaning with alcohol. After rolling on the first coat, it really looks like CRAP!!! 😩 I waited an hour to roll on the second coat but the product was still tacky and it just smeared as I attempted to apply it. Super PISSED off!!!!!! I'm gonna let it dry over night and hopefully I can cover the areas that look terrible.

Let me get this straight you used undercoating on the lower sheet metal of your doors?I have seen undercoating take a month to dry and even then it was still rubbery and not fully cured.

I would never have used undercoating on the doors.

Most undercoatings are asphalt based. Works great for corrosion resistance and adhesion, also any bare metal will soak in the oils from the asphalt.
Usually takes a good while to cure and remains soft compared to bedliner products.
There are undercoatings that offer a hard thin shell and dry in 15 minutes. They are expensive and have a very high VOC content.
Otherwise you could clean off most of what what applied and then spray or roll bedliner over it.

^That's what I was thinking. My bedliner is like an epoxy and has to be mixed with a catalyst to 'set' in 20 minutes and 'cure' in 12 hours or so.

I looked they are right Herculiner only sells bedliner,Going from Herculiner site it says apply a light first coat let it dry tell its no longer tacky it can take up to 4 hours then you apply the 2nd coat.If what you have on is cured even if its messed up you can always add coats tell it evens out.

It may be able to be cleaned off with mineral spirits. If not than maybe lacquer thinner or acetone (which will also eat paint!)
