Default Newbie Looking 4 Undercoating Advice

Hi All.

I just bought myself my first Jeep, a manual 99 XJ sport with 130k miles and the 4.0L I6. It will be my DD for awhile and I want to prevent any future issues. I was planning on cleaning up the undercarriage and thought I would give it a quick coat of bed liner followed by some undercoating spray. From what I've read it seams bed liner is more rugged but undercoating dampens sound better. Bad idea? Any other ideas? Also anyone familiar with some of the stop rust products like Fluid-Film etc. or should I just start grinding away?

Thanx,
Alex

What I'm planning on doing is sanding or grinding any rough areas of paint or metal.

Coating any rusty metal with rust encapsulator or converter (following the proper steps for install and coating over it)

Then coating the underside with undercoating spray.

I used roll-on bedliner for my interior floors but I wouldn't do it on the underside personally.
