Under powered on towing

Default Under powered on towing

So I've never had any problems wih he rig. Until now. Just curious what other people think. I got 92' 4.0 high output, manual. I've never had an issue towing with it. Everything seems fine. Drives great/normal "without" a load. As soon as I pack the back, or put one of my trailer on I Loose power! Can't get up to freeway speed. Max I get is 55 mph. And I'm talkin with an empty trailer! Pull off any of my trailers or weight out of the back and it drives normal again.

My trailers, a 6x6, and a 6x12, Low pro boat trailer. All bog out my rig

I've replaced the o2 sensor, air filter is new, oils new, oil filter is new. fuel filter is new, have new vacuum hoses, I've replaced my gaskets, and took a tkith brush to the inside and hand brushed the sludge outta the top ended and everywhere I could to the brush.

Any ideas? Besides needing a flux capacitor

Low compression?

Are you sure your clutch isnt slipping?

Used to pull a 18' pontoon boat, once in a while. No problems. But I wouldn't of wanted to go cross country. With it.

Is it the rig in your avatar? Looks to have over sized tires and if so your fighting the big tires with stock gears and when you hook a trailer to it it's going to be even worse.

Rehearing doesn't need it. I've never had an issue with the gearing towing before. As for the Cherokees having no power. I know tons people who havnt had an issue pulling things wih their xj's. and I really dont think the clutch is slipping cause it is really peppy and grips just fine.
