Default Two Months into the XJ Life. What's Next?

I love my XJ. It is a 1994 2WD 4.0L. It runs well, but is definitely aging. I want to start putting money into it, but I don't know where to start. I definitely would like to replace the shocks, maybe the air filter, paint it, new headliner, and add a roof rack and new speakers. I'm looking for some experienced XJ owners to give me some direction of where to go first. I want to increase performance and look as well.

quicker starts, more reliability. Those 20 year old cables are probably corroded and stiff by now. Cables made from welding cable have finer strands of copper, resulting in more flexibility and the insulation are oil resistant, ideal for being in engine bays.

start with maintenance and what not first. Such as fluid changes all around, tune up, fix leaks, and other small stuff. The. You can get into bigger things. What are you gonna be using it for? If OffRoad, you may want to thing about collecting parts to make it into a 4wd instead of 2wd.

Hmm I thought I was going to be stuck with 2WD. How much would it cost/take to upgrade to 4WD?

It's not something that you can do in an afternoon

Need a 4wd transmission, transfer case, front and rear driveshafts, and a front axle. Unless there's a sentimental tie to the one you have now, it's much easier to just buy another one that's 4wd.

You could swap a twin turbo ls motor in, tub it for big tires lower it some and destroy most all the new muscle cars on the street

I would do a tune up and make sure everything is running great before you do anything else. After that you could do paint, lift, 4x4 swap really whatever you feel like doing to it.
