Unless you have a 2.5L with the three-speed auto, the transmission in your XJ was made by Aisin-Warner. The AW4 (Chrysler, Volvo) and A340 (Toyota) was only built and sold to use Dexron. Volvo currently supports Dexron V and Toyota uses JWS 3309. Chrysler supported Dexron III/Mercon until the XJ was no longer under warranty, at which point they just used whatever they had on the shelf.
An ATF meeting Dexron III, Mercon, and JWS 3309 is the best stuff. Dex/Merc is still sold everywhere.
Also Cascade will clean all the **** out of the coolig system really well

Haven't done it myself. But the idea is that you fill the entire system with water and add Cascade (or reverse order, just drain it first). Then run the engine for a while. Dishwasher detergent doesn't have a foaming agent added and won't develop bubbles like soap will.

Those lights all work on the same fused circuit. Check the fuse. Replace it. If it blows again, you've got a short in that circuit. If you've been in the dash or center console lately, look for pinched wires. (Probably an orange wire with black stripe.)

Did those lights stop working after you installed the new deck? If so, that is where you need to look. It is an orange wire that feeds all those lights you say are out. That orange wire would have controlled the illumination brightness of the deck.

There was no where to hook up the orange wire so i figured if I left it would be fine. The deck illuminates great from what i see anyways and not sure this is my first time driving at night in the Cherokee but I know they worked before i put the deck in because they would dim the odometer real bad.

Well, you are going to do some noggin-pokin' (as they say around these parts) to find out what is happening with those lights, and you now know what wire to look for...

Electrical issues are not my strong suit to be honest I usually just trial and error till it works to be honest. I haven't gotten a chance to go look at the fuse box yet due to this lovely weather in northeast Ohio.
