I am trying to rebuild my boyfriends '86 Jeep Cherokee and Im fixing to drop the fuel tank to replace the fuel pump assembely. Can you please let me know how to do this because he loves this jeep and he's out of town on bussiness and I would like to finish this before he gets back. I can't find anything and the service department in Jeep dealerships can't even tell me where to start because there computers dont go back that far. So I'm stuck anc anyone help me out? Thank you

On an 86 with the GM V6 it's on the side of the engine block if I remember right. It's a mechanically driven pump.
