I believe my transmission mount is bad and I want to replace it. I've looked at a lot of forums but none can tell me which mount I need. I have a 97 cherokee manual tranny. Auto parts stores only have ones for automatics and online it's the same auto trannys and the mounts for 4cyl Cherokees. Would anyone know part number or web site for the mount I need to buy. Thanks

 

Call a Jeep dealership and ask for a part # then ref. that at a parts store. I have a hard time with them not finding anything for your XJ. While your at it if it is bad I would replace the engine mounts as well at the same time.

I went through the same thing when replacing the trans mount on my 99. No on seemed to have one for a 5 speed. I went through several places including rock auto and all the mounts they sent me were wrong. Save yourself the hassle and get it from the dealership. It's more expensive but at least you will know it will work.
