Transmission filter

Should I change the trans filter when I change the fluid in my 2000 Cherokee? The manual only says about draining and replacing the fluid

definitely. If you are going through the hassle of dropping the pan then by all means. IMO just changing the fluid would be like doing an engine oil change and leaving the old filter on.
