Question trailer wiring question

ok guys, i got my 1995 jeep cherokee 4.0 HO and im gonna be towing a small trailer with it. it has a hitch (class 1 or 2 cause its an 1 1/4 inch reciever hole) but i cant find a wiring harness to plug into the trailer. it may be behind the panels in the cargo area but i havent looked yet. where do they hide the plug in from the factory? the new jeeps have them tucked under the carpet. question 2, i was going to put in the wiring myself, would it be worth putting in a 4 wire 7 wire combo? you know, the ones that the 4 wire plug is in the same bracket as the 7 wire one. i just dont know if anything i can tow will be big enough to require the 7 wire set up. thanks guys! (and ladies)

start by looking behind the drivers side rear cargo panel, behind the spare tire mount.
that's where my factory harness is in my 89 limited.

if not, the new harnesses are basically plug and play.

Default wireing harness

I have a 96 cherokee. the plug is locater behind the rear driver side cargo panel. I undid a few screws and there is a harness that plugs into itself. My wireing kit was from hoppy and i just undid the plug and conected the hoppy thing to it. its kind of like a t and i just ran my wires thru the light compartment and let them hang down. I found my harness on ebay for about 15 to 20 bucks.
