Default Track Bar

I went out wheeling the other night and since then the whole jeep shakes uncontrollably if I hit a pot hole wrong. I jumped underneath and saw the track bar bolt is moving. NOT GOOD!! Im just curious, is welding a washer to the other side of the bolt hold a good way to keep it from doing this again??

It's possible that you've elongated the hole that the bolt passes through and, if that's the case, no amount of washers is going to fix that. You'll have to get another mount welded to the axle. For the time being, tightening the bolt will probably help with the bump-steer/death wobble, at least for a while.

It can sometimes fix the issue but depending on how bad it is, you might want to drill the hole out just a bit to use a larger diameter bolt.

What's your Jeep's specs? You might want to just go for a new track bar i.e. double shear unit.

Weld a piece of plate with a hole in the plate over the existing hole rather than using a washer. the little extra surface area will help a lot. I did this with a link mount that was drilled out too large.

And x2 on going to double shear.
They should have come stock with a double sheer setup imo.

+1 million. I did exactly that when I installed my double sheer setup. Best mod yet.

Turns out that the bolt I got from a friend of mine was the wrong size. Good thing I have spares and a new track bar setup in the back seat!!
