top speed
So I would love to know the top speed you have hit with your truck and what performance if any mods it had when you did so. I know the speedo only go's up to 85 but there are other ways of knowing speed (gps and what not). I know that with stock set up, stock size street tires, the renix 4.0, auto, 2wd, with 3.55 gear ratio, I got it up to 112 mph. How ever the other day I got it up to 96 mph thats with newish 31" all terrain tires, 4.10 gear ratio, about 300 lbs in the bed, and some other "minor" problems. So tell your story

About 10 years ago driving my '93 home from work I ran a little tuner and buried the needle... It took it several seconds after releasing the throttle to drop back to a detectable speed. I can't swear to the speed but I saw the guy at the parts house (my workplace then) the next day and he said we hit about 120 before he started pulling away from me.... That was stock with 235's & mild performance mods.

Once I did 95. That was before the potholes messed up my front end. Now I have bad alignment and death wobble at 85-ish. You think death wobble is scary at 40, try at 85.
I never drive my Jeep above 75 anymore.

I normally drive around 80, gotta love those 75MPH highways down here! Only performance part I have is a 62mm throttle body, everything else is stock save for an over-sized oil filter... of course that's when I'm on a highway, which isn't very often.
